Homes By Managen was in dire need of a new, modern marketing site for their company. Their old site was functional but looked very dated. A major issue was that it was not mobile-friendly, nor did it really emphasize the amazing homes that they are known for. Since they were already familiar with WordPress, they wanted the new site to also use it as a CMS. With more than 30 years in business, they already had a strong company-wide style guide with a great logo, strong colours, and particular fonts ready for me to use, which made my job much easier.
The marketing site has some pretty basic functionality. I created a simple home slider and added a custom post type for adding new show homes and available homes. The site was developed to be easy to update once it was handed off, so a lot of time was dedicated to making the WordPress back end easy to use. As for the design, the idea was to make the images the main focus and keep all other design elements very minimal.
Working with Managen was a fantastic experience
Not only did I get to work with one of Edmonton's premier home builders, but I also got to work with one of my best and oldest friends. Josh Kehler is an amazingly talented photographer who did (and continues to do) all of the photography work for Managen. Working with him to get all the amazing detail images and gallery shots was awesome.
